Waterfront Publishing is an independent magazine publisher and creative agency based in central London. It creates print, mobile and online media and provides editorial, design, proofreading and marketing solutions.
It has two in-house magazines, Cruise Adviser and Solus, both aimed at the travel trade. Waterfront also offers contract publishing services and produces magazines for Travelzoo; the Cruise Lines International Association, UK and Ireland; Cruise & Maritime Voyages; The Travel Village and Advantage Travel Partnership. It has provided editorial services to the likes of Emerald Waterways, Reed Smith and Widgety.
Role: Head of ABTA Titles (Sales)
As the Head of ABTA Titles you will be responsible for helping to shape a new project for Waterfront Publishing’s contract publishing business after it recently won the contract to become the publishing partner of ABTA, the travel industry body.
The Head of ABTA Titles will have a book full of important marketing and media agency contacts – from hotels to airlines – and be bursting with captivating advertising and advertorial ideas. They will also be able to identify and maximise potential commercial opportunities as well as commercially support the existing editorial schedule. Experience with events will be seen favourably.
Competent at taking the lead in sales pitches, the successful candidate will be able to research client needs and also be a strong negotiator.
Experience within the travel industry is a necessity for the role, as is having sold across a range of mediums. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a team and have proven managerial experience.
